Playa del Coco Villa — first Costa Rica deployment.
Vacation rentals depend on reliable internet. Maple Connection rebuilt the guest Wi-Fi and surveillance at a villa in Playas del Coco — the first Costa Rica deployment of the methodology, and the one that taught us what Guanacaste ISPs actually do under pressure.
Executive summary.
Guest Wi-Fi complaints are the loudest reviews a vacation rental gets. The villa's existing setup had inconsistent coverage and gave the owner no visibility when guests reported problems.
We pulled out the consumer router, put in commercial gear, and configured everything so the owner could see and fix problems from Canada. Every Costa Rica deployment since runs the same template, refined against what we learned here.
What was deployed.
Network rebuild
Commercial-grade router and switching, sized for the property and the local ISP handoff.
Wireless coverage
Signal across the property — coverage tuned for the actual layout, not the box defaults.
Remote monitoring
The owner can see and fix problems from anywhere. When something's off, we handle it without waiting for the next on-site visit.
What changed.
- Guests stop complaining about the Wi-Fi.
- The owner sees the property from Canada.
- ISP transitions stop being a guest-facing event.
- Remote troubleshooting handles what used to need a site visit.
- The template every Costa Rica deployment runs since.
